Thomas Struharik opened the original Tucker's Place in the historic Soulard area of Saint Louis in 1982. In 1992, Tucker's Place was opened in Manchester, after Tom moved to the area with his wife and three sons. Soon after, his South County location made its debut.
Our business philosophy is to always remember who we are working for, Tom says. The customers always are in the forefront of our minds. While we realize we cannot be everything to everybody, we know who we are and what we do best, and we focus on that. We don’t follow trends, we keep our menu limited, we focus on consistency, and never settle for less than the very highest quality products.
We are fortunate to have a wonderful staff and very loyal patrons who have welcomed us an integral part of their communities.
We feel that it is important to give back to the communities which have been so good to us. Therefore, we make it a point to be involved with local and charitable events.
Some of these events are:
Special Olympics Torch Run annual event, in partnership with the Manchester Police Department.
Sponsorship of Manchester Homecoming
Sponsorship of Parks and Rec events
Manchester Shop with a Cop annual function
Ballwin VFW GI Breakfasts
Fundraisers for Dining Out for Life as well as Breast Cancer
Fundraisers for local police officers and their families (such as officer Flamion) and Back Stoppers
Manchester’s Veterans Memorial Sponsorship
Sponsorship of local charities (Knights of Columbus, American Legion, etc.)
We would not be able to help any of these organizations if we weren't supported by such a wonderful community of people. We are truly fortunate and grateful.
